pib is an open-source humanoid that users can reproduce through downloadable three-dimensional printing files, assembly instructions and software. The project gives schools, makers and developers direct access to the robot’s mechanics and code, supporting education in construction, motion and artificial intelligence.
pib.Pro provides a more robust professional platform for research, exhibitions and applied development. isento also undertakes robotics software, simulation, testing and AI projects for industrial customers, connecting the open community platform with engineering work around production-ready systems.

- 2025-11-18 - Product Launch - isento launches community-developed pib 4.0 humanoid
pib 4.0 simplified motor calibration and improved access to electronics and power controls. A microphone array added sound-direction detection alongside new speakers for more natural interaction. isento kept printing files, bills of materials, assembly instructions, and software components openly available.

More than 50 German and European schools were using pib by April 4, 2025. The pib@school program supported practical robotics, programming, 3D-printing, and artificial-intelligence instruction. Student projects ranged from assembling robots to developing human-machine-interaction artificial-intelligence models.

FB Pro developed a dedicated hardening script for the open-source pib robot. The implementation largely applied the CIS Ubuntu Linux 22.04 Level 1 benchmark. isento published the implementation guide so community members could reproduce the security configuration.

The February 2024 pib hackathon produced a working four-wheel mecanum mobile base. Contributors containerized the control stack and ran a pib digital twin in Webots. The team also tested SLAM on the robot camera and generated an initial map of the hackathon room.
Source - 2022-10-25 - Partnership - isento starts pib school programme with Hans-Sachs-Gymnasium
isento and Hans-Sachs-Gymnasium began their pib@school cooperation on October 25, 2022. Students were set to build the 3D-printed humanoid and connect robotics work with physics, electronics, bionics and artificial intelligence. The programme included technical support from isento and a final presentation of the students' completed robot.

isento formally introduced pib at an internal release event on April 4, 2022. Users could download 3D-printing files and assemble their own humanoid robot. The project opened development to makers, robotics enthusiasts, and contributors across experience levels.
