About Persistent Systems
Persistent Systems develops Wave Relay, a mobile ad hoc networking system for linking people, sensors, vehicles and uncrewed platforms without fixed communications infrastructure. MPU5 radios form a self-configuring peer-to-peer network carrying voice, video and IP data, with integrated GPS, Android computing, hardware encryption and interchangeable radio-frequency modules. Each node relays traffic, allowing the network to extend and reorganise as users move.
Embedded modules bring the same networking and computing stack into UAVs, ground robots and sensors with lower size, weight and power. Rugged Display and Controller units run Android applications such as TAK and QGroundControl, letting operators control vehicles, view payload video and share targeting or situational-awareness data. Vehicle-mounted GVR5 units bridge Wave Relay with vehicle LAN, intercom, satellite and cellular systems, while tracking antennas extend aircraft links. Persistent manufactures the hardware in the United States and supplies complete networking kits, integration and training.

- 2026-09-10 - Demonstration - DataShapes AI-led counter-UAS stack is field-tested at Falcon Peak 26.2
The stack combined GlobalEdge RF sensing, a long-endurance unmanned helicopter, interceptor drones and tactical networking. The companies assembled the integrated system in roughly three weeks for Falcon Peak 26.2. The test destroyed drones and passed targeting data into the government’s Lattice command-and-control system.

The multi-million-pound contract covers MPU5 radios, Rugged Display and Controller units and dismounted networking kits. Persistent Systems said the equipment will support command, control and situational awareness for 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team. The deployment extends Wave Relay use with a UK rapid-response formation and includes equipment, integration and support.

Persistent Systems announced an 87.5 million dollar U.S. Army order for MANET devices. The order supports the transport layer for the Next-Generation Command and Control prototype. Persistent said the second order followed a 34 million dollar October contract, bringing combined awards to 121.5 million dollars.
