About Shadow Robot

Shadow Robot develops dexterous hand hardware for manipulation research, reinforcement learning and teleoperation. Its DEX-EE platform uses modular replaceable finger units, optical tactile sensors and force and position control, with EtherCAT and USB interfaces for integration into ROS-based research systems.

The Dexterous Hand Series uses 20 motors to produce 24 movements across 20 degrees of freedom and carries more than 100 sensors operating at up to 1 kHz. Shadow's teleoperation system maps an operator's movements through a lightweight glove and can control one or two hands over Wi-Fi or 5G, supporting manipulation in hazardous, sterile and remote environments as well as robot-learning data collection.
