ARKV6X Flight Controller

About

About ARKV6X Flight Controller

ARKV6X is a replaceable flight-control module built to the FMUv6X and Pixhawk Autopilot Bus open specifications. Its PAB form factor separates the autopilot from the carrier board, allowing vehicle integrators to pair the same controller with a carrier chosen for a particular airframe and connector layout. The board supports synchronized inertial-data averaging, voting and filtering across two ICM-42688-P sensors and an industrial IIM-42652.

A 480 MHz STM32H743 processor is paired with 2 MB of flash, 1 MB of RAM, FRAM and microSD storage. PX4 is supplied by default and ArduPilot can be flashed; ARK also publishes the board design as a downloadable 3D model. The 36 × 29 × 5 mm module weighs 5 g, draws up to 500 mA including its sensor heater and requires a compatible PAB carrier for vehicle interfaces and power assembly.

Timeline

  • ARK Electronics adds triple-IMU ARKV6X to its modular Pixhawk hardware range

2023-01-25 - Product Launch - ARKV6X added three synchronized inertial measurement units to the FMUv6X design for sensor averaging, voting and filtering. The separate PAB carrier implemented the Pixhawk Autopilot Bus interface, allowing the controller and vehicle-interface board to remain modular. ARK described both products as manufactured in the United States and NDAA compliant, with open-source PX4 firmware for unmanned-vehicle integration.
