About DEXTER Robotic Surgery System
DEXTER is a mobile, surgeon-controlled robotic system designed to fit existing soft-tissue surgery workflows. Its sterile console keeps the surgeon beside the patient and supports seated or standing operation, while mobile carts carry the robotic arms and can be moved between rooms. Distalmotion markets DEXTER in the United States and Europe, with regulatory indications varying by region. US authorization began with adult inguinal-hernia repair in October 2024 and expanded through cholecystectomy, gynecologic procedures and, in August 2026, ventral-hernia repair. Distalmotion reported more than 4,000 patients treated by that latest clearance and positions the compact system particularly for outpatient and ambulatory surgery centres.
