Limelight 3

Limelight 3 is an embedded smart camera developed for FRC robot vision, including target tracking, AprilTag detection and MegaTag localisation. LimelightOS provides configurable zero-code pipelines and custom Python processing. Its five-megapixel sensor supports 480p at 90 frames per second, 720p or 960p at 40 frames per second, and 2,592 by 1,944 pixels at approximately 13 to 15 frames per second.

The enclosure is 30 percent smaller than Limelight 2+ and boots in a stated 15 seconds. Gigabit Ethernet carries robot-network traffic, while a five-gigabit-per-second USB 3 connection can attach a Google Coral accelerator; calibration data is retained in onboard EEPROM. Limelight 3 supplies detections and pose estimates to robot code, whose drivetrain, field model, control logic and validation determine the resulting motion.
