3DM-GX5-45

MicroStrain 3DM-GX5-45 is a compact GNSS-aided inertial navigation unit for mobile, marine and airborne systems. It combines a triaxial accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer with a pressure altimeter, temperature sensing and an integrated GNSS receiver. An onboard extended Kalman filter produces position, velocity and attitude estimates, including typical roll and pitch accuracy of ±0.25 degrees RMS and heading accuracy of ±0.8 degrees RMS.

The module measures 44.2 by 36.6 by 11.1 millimetres and weighs 20 grams. It accepts 4–36 volts DC, typically consumes 0.7 watts and operates from −40 to 85 degrees Celsius. USB 2.0 and RS-232 interfaces connect it to the host platform, with a Micro-D9 carrying data and power and an MMCX connector accepting the GNSS antenna. It supplies navigation states and does not control vehicle motion itself.
