About

About Eyeonic Vision System

Eyeonic Vision System uses frequency-modulated continuous-wave LiDAR to measure distance and instantaneous radial velocity from the same optical return. SiLC's silicon-photonics platform also analyses polarization, giving a host perception system information about motion and material response alongside 3D geometry. Coherent detection rejects ambient light and interference from neighbouring sensors more effectively than direct time-of-flight architectures.

The 2023 family comprised Short, Medium, Long and Ultra-Long Range configurations for machine vision, robotics, vehicles and perimeter monitoring. SiLC described nominal reach up to 50, 150 and 300 metres for the first three versions and beyond 1,250 metres for Ultra-Long Range. Later Eyeonic products such as Vista and Trace specialise the same underlying approach for particular markets. The vision system supplies measurements; object interpretation, navigation and machine action remain functions of the integrated compute and application software.
