AEye Apollo
About
About AEye Apollo
AEye Apollo uses software-defined scanning to adjust field of view, point density, resolution and range through software. The compact 1550-nanometre lidar provides a maximum 120-degree field of view, up to 6.4 million points per second and detection distances reaching one kilometre.
Its low-profile package supports windshield, roof, grille and infrastructure installations. OPTIS perception software classifies hazards from Apollo point clouds, with NVIDIA DRIVE AGX providing a supported compute environment. AEye and manufacturing partner LITEON are preparing the sensor for production customer programmes.

Timeline
- AEye Apollo selected for Lunar Outpost Pegasus vehicle
2026-09-01 - Contract Award - Pegasus is being developed to transport Artemis astronauts across the lunar surface under NASA's Lunar Terrain Vehicle Services programme. Apollo is intended to support terrain perception, obstacle detection and autonomous navigation in lunar operating conditions. The award extends AEye's commercial lidar work beyond automotive, defence and industrial applications into space mobility.
Source - AEye expands to 25 revenue-generating customers as Q2 revenue rises nine-fold
2026-08-06 - Market Signal - The customer count increased 19% from Q1, while total commercial engagements grew 25% and active quotations increased by roughly 40%. Defence engagements doubled quarter over quarter and AEye's lead defence customer placed a third consecutive paid order. The company is evaluating Apollo lidar across uncrewed aerial and ground vehicles and counter-UAS applications.
Source - AEye Apollo lidar validated on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor
2026-08-05 - Capability - Validation confirms sensor-to-compute interoperability through NVIDIA DRIVE OS. Pre-qualified status places Apollo within the Hyperion autonomous-driving development ecosystem. The milestone follows AEye’s January 2026 showcase of Apollo integrated with Thor and is a distinct formal validation step.
