Stationary Robot

The Squishy Robotics Stationary Robot is an impact-resistant sensing platform for hazardous scenes. Its carbon-fibre rods and spring-cable structure surround an interchangeable payload, allowing responders to throw the robot or deploy it from an aircraft before entering an area. The stationary platform remains at its landing point and relays ground-level information to an incident command team.

The 4-GasPLUS configuration combines oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and combustible-gas sensing with six cameras, GPS and environmental sensors. Multiple units can form a wireless mesh. Other payloads provide a steerable pan-tilt camera or a Silvus radio relay, with payload-specific deployment limits. Squishy Robotics supplies configurable systems by quotation and provides training and technical support. Fire-service exercises have used the sensor configuration to send gas measurements and video from simulated hazardous-material incidents.
