About ICM-42688-P 6-Axis IMU
ICM-42688-P combines a three-axis gyroscope and three-axis accelerometer in a 2.5 × 3 × 0.91 mm package. Programmable accelerometer ranges extend from ±2 g to ±16 g, while the gyroscope supports ranges up to ±2,000 degrees per second. The device communicates through I²C, I3C or SPI and operates from 1.71 to 3.6 V.
A flight controller or robot computer samples the raw acceleration and angular-rate measurements and fuses them with other sensors to estimate orientation and movement. The IMU includes filtering, FIFO storage and timing functions that reduce the processing and communication burden on the host. Its low-noise performance and wide operating-temperature range support drones, stabilised cameras, mobile robots and other embedded systems requiring fast motion feedback.
