About Torobo

Torobo is a force-controlled humanoid developed by Tokyo Robotics for whole-body manipulation and industrial research. Joint torque sensing supports impedance control and compliant contact, while zero-moment-point monitoring provides fall prevention during standing and walking. A motion-state system connects locomotion, reaching and manipulation behaviours.

The software stack is based on ROS and includes Cartesian control, collision detection and safety stopping. Researchers use Torobo for bimanual work, cleaning, tool use and studies of human-robot interaction. The platform remains an active research system and technology base for Tokyo Robotics’ industrial humanoid development.
