SHARK-M
About
About SHARK-M
SHARK-M is an electric fixed-wing unmanned aircraft system for long-range reconnaissance and surveillance. The 3.4-metre-wingspan aircraft has a maximum takeoff mass of 14.5 kilograms, remains airborne for up to seven hours with an electro-optical payload and communicates over an encrypted link at ranges up to 180 kilometres. Catapult launch and parachute recovery support operation away from prepared runways.
Daylight, thermal and combined EO/IR gimbals provide stabilised imaging, object tracking and optional laser ranging, while the aircraft can also relay communications for another UAV. The system combines four aircraft with a tracking antenna, ground and payload-control stations, remote launch terminal, simulator, generator and field-support equipment in its described configuration. Automated checks, return-on-link-loss, anti-jamming measures and multi-station handover support sustained missions with a two-person crew.
