WSG-FMF Sensor Fingers
About
About WSG-FMF Sensor Fingers
WSG-FMF replaces a standard WSG gripper finger with an active force-measurement module. Integrated strain gauges and local signal processing measure the force applied at the contact surface, giving the gripper controller direct feedback from the workpiece. The specified range is zero to 160 newtons, with an 80-newton nominal range, 16-bit resolution and ±3% accuracy.
The module plugs into the sensor port of WSG 32 and WSG 50 grippers and draws 10 milliamperes at five volts. A rotatable polyamide support accepts different contact geometries, including customer-specific inserts for sensitive or variable parts. With a WSG 50, the force signal is sampled at 300 hertz. The separate passive WSG-F finger has no force sensor and is not part of this exact record.
