About FrodoBots
FrodoBots builds internet-connected sidewalk robots, teleoperation tools and robot-gaming networks. EarthRover lets remote participants drive physical robots through real streets, turning play and competition into a stream of human navigation demonstrations.
The distributed fleet links low-cost mobile hardware, cameras, communications and browser-based control. Collected trajectories support robotics research and embodied-AI datasets, while games create incentives for repeated operation in varied environments. FrodoBots develops the robots, network and data platform and makes selected datasets available to researchers.

- 2024-10-16 - Demonstration - FrodoBots runs AI-versus-gamers Earth Rover Challenge at IROS 2024
The competition ran October 16-17 during IROS 2024 in Abu Dhabi with five AI teams and five human gamers. Teams remotely controlled sidewalk robots on navigation missions in Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Taipei, Stockholm and other cities. FrodoBots collaborated with Yield Guild Games and researchers from Google DeepMind and academic institutions on the benchmark.

As of May 12, 2024, approximately 1,300 hours were ready for download and about 700 hours remained in cleaning. The dataset combines camera footage, GPS, IMU, audio and human-control records from more than 9,000 driving sessions. Those sessions were collected through teleoperated sidewalk robots operating across more than 10 cities.

FrodoBots Lab Pte. Ltd. was incorporated in Singapore on February 9, 2022 under UEN 202204375H. Its registered principal activity is the manufacture and repair of service robots. The company's own history identifies brothers Michael and Sam Cho as the founders of the robotics-data project.
