About
About Freefly Systems
Freefly Systems builds an imaging ecosystem around interchangeable aircraft payloads and stabilised cameras. Astro and Astro Max accept the company's Smart Dovetail interface, which provides a common connection for compatible sensors from Freefly and third-party manufacturers. Operators can configure the aircraft for high-resolution mapping, thermal inspection or optical gas imaging by changing the payload.
The LR1 package combines a stabilised Sony camera with selectable lenses and optional thermal or laser-rangefinder modules. A separate Ventus OGI package uses a gas-imaging camera on a Freefly gimbal. Payload installation can require the matching vibration isolator, and compatibility also depends on aircraft firmware. Freefly supplies integration documentation and engineering assistance for teams adapting their own equipment to the aircraft.
