RENK develops transmissions, power packs, suspension and propulsion equipment for tracked and wheeled vehicles, ships and industrial machinery. Its defence systems transfer engine power through high-load gearsets while integrating steering, braking and auxiliary power functions.
The company supplies complete mobility packages for armoured vehicles and adapts them for hybrid propulsion and remotely operated platforms. Suspension and drivetrain components support heavy uncrewed ground vehicles that must carry payloads across difficult terrain. RENK's production, test and service network handles development programmes, new-build deliveries and long-term overhaul of mission-critical equipment.

- 2026-06-15 - Partnership - RENK and Patria present heavy unmanned ground-vehicle concept
The demonstrator combines Patria’s modular TRACKX platform with RENK’s HSWL 076 transmission and digital mobility architecture. The drivetrain integrates propulsion, steering and braking to support remote operation, platooning and future autonomous functions. Patria had also awarded RENK a pre-series HSWL 076 batch for the TRACKX vehicle family.

RENK presented a full-scale unmanned ground-vehicle concept built around digitally controlled military mobility. The concept combined the HSWL 076 transmission with drivetrains, suspension, electrification and testing technologies. The architecture supports drive-by-wire operation and future manned-unmanned teaming.

The plug-and-play drive-by-wire upgrade retains the current transmission’s space envelope. The work supports BAE Systems’ rapid capability kit initiative for the US Army vehicle fleet. RENK identified Bradley, M109 Paladin and M270 as other HMPT-equipped platforms that could use the upgrade.
