About Enigma Aerospace
Enigma Aerospace develops modular autonomous aircraft for cargo, sensing and defence missions. Its Phoenix programme centres on a reusable vertical-take-off platform designed around interchangeable payload and propulsion modules, with the P-1000 targeting substantially heavier loads than small multirotors.
The company is pairing the aircraft with Strata autonomy and mission software for vehicle control, fleet operation and integration of customer payloads. Development includes a United States Air Force small-business programme and a manufacturing agreement with Re:Build Manufacturing announced in 2026. Phoenix remains in development and flight-test progression, with production scale and operational availability still being established.

- 2026-07-08 - Partnership - Honeywell and Enigma explore Phoenix mission systems
The MOU concerns Honeywell systems on Phoenix UAS. The scope includes navigation, mission and electronic-warfare systems. The parties announced the exploratory collaboration on 8 July 2026.

The agreement covers development, manufacturing and fielding of the Phoenix P-1000 autonomous logistics aircraft. Re:Build will apply manufacturing-constrained design and Lean methods while the aircraft remains in development. The partners target first-article flight testing and low-rate initial production within 12 months of programme start.

Phoenix is designed for autonomous, runway-independent delivery of payloads up to 1,000 pounds over more than 2,000 nautical miles. Strata provides mission planning, fleet coordination and real-time execution for distributed logistics operations. Enigma said the integrated system targets contested and austere environments without pilots or fixed infrastructure.

The Phase II award totals USD 1,249,757 under contract FA8649-25-P-0255. The project uses the Phoenix P100 subscale aircraft to de-risk the full-size Phoenix P-1000 design. Work covers simulation, hardware-in-the-loop autonomy validation, integration and a culminating autonomous flight demonstration.
