ASS expands fibre-reinforced 3D-printed gripper tooling
ASS Maschinenbau expanded its additive-manufacturing capability to produce lightweight fibre-reinforced robot-gripper structures.

Evidence notes
- ASS added a Continuous Fiber Reinforcement printer to its 3D-printing portfolio in 2022.
- The process combines Onyx base material with optional continuous glass or carbon fibre to increase strength while reducing tooling weight.
- ASS uses the capability for custom gripper jaws, base frames and complete robotic hands where geometry, mass or integrated airflow constrain conventional metal tooling.
Company context
ASS Maschinenbau manufactures modular industrial grippers, robot hands, quick-change systems and turnkey automation for plastics, automotive, e-mobility and composite-material handling.
