IMI plc is a specialist engineering group whose Norgren business supplies motion-control and material-handling equipment.

Norgren’s material-handling portfolio includes grippers, suction cups, vacuum equipment, carbon-fibre structures, finger tooling and tool changers. It also designs and builds custom end-of-arm tooling for robotic part handling, while the robot, controls and application integration remain part of the wider production system. Norgren supports both standard tooling and engineered assemblies for particular parts and processes.

  • 2026-05-14 - Product Launch - IMI expands NEON range for non-hazardous industrial monitoring

    The non-Ex pressure and temperature sensor variants retained the sensing, wireless-connectivity and battery-life capabilities of the existing NEON range. IMI combined the sensors with SolidRed analytics and LoRaWAN infrastructure for device management, asset visibility and long-range low-power data transmission. The company reported more than 2,000 non-Ex units ordered for installation and said additional sensor variants were planned.

  • 2025-07-15 - Executive Hire - IMI appoints Tarak Chhaya to lead Industrial Automation

    Chhaya moved into the sector-president role after serving as IMI's Regional President for APAC and India in Industrial Automation. He had worked at IMI since 2016 and previously held executive positions at GE Oil & Gas across Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The appointment placed him in charge of a sector supplying valves and actuators for factory-process automation and other industrial applications.

  • 2024-10-16 - Partnership - IMI names Paragon exclusive North American nuclear representative

    Paragon became IMI's exclusive representative for nuclear-industry valves, actuators and vent silencers across North America. The agreement covered support for legacy nuclear-plant valves as well as equipment for next-generation reactors, including small modular reactors. IMI said the partnership would expand product reach across the United States and Canada while supporting plant safety, reliability and efficiency.
