About Autonomous A2Z

Autonomous A2Z develops the software, controllers and vehicles needed to run driverless passenger services. Its ROii mid-size shuttle is a purpose-built electric platform for up to 11 passengers, including wheelchair and stroller access through doors on both sides. Four lidar units, five radars, eight cameras, dual satellite positioning and wheel encoders provide overlapping coverage for urban operation.

The vehicle uses redundant controllers that monitor one another and select a safe response when faults occur. A2Z's wider stack covers perception, localisation, planning, vehicle control, infrastructure sensing and remote fleet supervision, allowing it to integrate autonomy into both its own shuttle and partner vehicles. ROii is specified for a 260-kilometre theoretical range and a maximum operating speed of 40 kilometres per hour.

    The AED 27.91 million fleet package includes eight ROii autonomous shuttles and 11 additional Level 4 vehicles. Autonomous A2Z will provide supporting infrastructure for operation within Space42’s TXAI service. The order expands the public autonomous-mobility fleet serving Abu Dhabi.

  • 2026-03-12 - Funding - Autonomous A2Z closes KRW 40.5 billion Pre-IPO round

    Existing investor DS Investment Partners anchored the round; Nvestor, KB Investment, KB Securities and Hana Securities also returned, alongside Daesung Venture Capital, Suin Investment Capital and E&Venture Partners. Autonomous A2Z’s company materials state that the KRW 40.5 billion round brought cumulative funding to KRW 122.5 billion. The company said the proceeds would fund inventory for domestic and overseas expansion, end-to-end autonomous-driving infrastructure and hiring ahead of a planned Korean listing.

  • 2026-02-06 - Deployment - Autonomous A2Z system enters Japan taxi pilot

    The pilot began on 6 February 2026 and was scheduled through 31 March 2026. Kanematsu described it as the first public-transport pilot in Japan to use Autonomous A2Z technology. The vehicles operated at Level 2 with a driver onboard; Level 4 was the future service objective rather than the demonstrated operating level.
