About XSun
Based in Guérande, XSun brings aerospace engineering in airframe design, navigation, radio and satellite communications into a solar-electric unmanned aircraft system. SolarXOne uses a tandem-wing architecture with integrated solar cells, redundant propulsion and flight-control elements, encrypted datalinks and interchangeable payload capacity. The company has also established operating entities in Germany and Australia and a UK commercial presence.
The aircraft is designed for missions that value endurance, low noise and wide-area coverage more than vertical take-off. SolarXOne is used for mapping, agriculture, environmental protection, maritime observation, public safety and security, with endurance dependent on mission profile and solar-cell configuration. Korthos treats those figures as configuration-specific manufacturer claims and classifies XSun primarily under aerial inspection and survey.

- 2024-02-28 - Deployment - XSun starts SolarXOne civil-security fire-detection pilot
The CONDOR pilot integrates SolarXOne into proactive forest-fire surveillance. The aircraft is intended to provide early warning and precise fire-location data using onboard sensors. The programme is supported by the French Innovative Purchasing Fund and integrates with the SDIS MidGard system.
