About Navtech Radar
Navtech Radar’s rotating frequency-modulated continuous-wave sensors produce 360-degree range-and-bearing data for automation and autonomy systems. The RAS family exposes raw radar data, ROS and ROS 2 drivers and a software-development kit, allowing researchers and machine builders to develop localization, collision-avoidance and perception functions that continue operating through rain, fog, dust and dirt.
Founded in 1999 in Wantage, the company also supplies radar systems for highways, security and marine automation. Halma acquired all of Navtech Radar on 14 November 2018 for an initial £21 million; the business continued under its own management within Halma’s infrastructure-safety operations.

- 2025-03-11 - Product Launch - Navtech Radar launches MAS10 radar for autonomous vessels
MAS10 uses 77 GHz FMCW radar to provide 360-degree sensing for marine automation. The sensor is designed to detect targets through rain, fog, spray and darkness. Navtech developed the unit for autonomous surface vessels and other marine situational-awareness systems.

Halma paid an initial £21 million in cash on a cash- and debt-free basis. Navtech Radar continued under its existing management team after completion. The acquired business supplied radar, camera and software systems for roads, critical infrastructure and harsh-environment automation.
