About Amap
Amap is Alibaba Group’s mapping and location-services platform. Alongside consumer navigation and travel services, it develops spatial information and AI for finding places, understanding indoor environments and guiding people through them. Its tourism work combines mapping software with three-dimensional place previews and Tutu robot dogs that interact with visitors and provide directions.
Amap delivered an initial batch of Tutu robots to Sands China in October 2026 following an activation at NBA House in Macau. The robots handled bilingual questions and guidance requests in a crowded venue. Amap and Sands China are extending the service to resort settings and plan indoor navigation and 3D models of selected areas for previews in the Amap app. The programme combines physical visitor assistance with digital mapping and continuing refinement of multi-robot service operations.

Research
- Amap and CASIA publish DreamTrue robot world-model research
2026-10-08 - Research Publication - The authors report first place in the world-model track of AgiBot World Challenge 2026. Human-assessed interaction defects fell from 48.12% without reinforcement-learning post-training to 6.25% with the full model. The evaluation measures predicted video interactions rather than a physical robot deployment.

- 2026-10-10 - Production Milestone - Amap delivers first Tutu robot dogs to Sands China
At the delivery ceremony, Tutu walked to the stage autonomously around obstacles without a remote control or leash. During an 11-hour NBA House workday, Tutu completed 214 direction requests and answered 4,546 questions in Chinese and English. The partnership also covers resort-wide indoor navigation and 3D previews of selected resort areas in the Amap app.
