About ams OSRAM
Robot-perception designs can draw on ams OSRAM’s multi-zone time-of-flight modules, global-shutter image sensors, VCSEL illuminators, colour and spectral sensors, encoders and optical force-sensing front ends. The TMF8829 module, for example, performs multi-zone direct time-of-flight processing on-chip, while BELAGO dot projectors support structured-light and active-stereo systems. These components address obstacle detection, collision avoidance, navigation, material classification and joint or mechanism positioning.
The company organizes its robotics offering across stationary industrial arms, AGVs and AMRs, household machines and humanoid platforms. It supplies sensing and illumination devices to equipment manufacturers and camera vendors instead of building complete robots. That position gives it exposure to several layers of physical AI: perception around the machine, optical feedback inside mechanisms and human-interaction sensing at the interface.
