About ClearDrop
ClearDrop uses acoustic surface waves to create microscopic vibrations across a protective glass surface. A small electronic module installed behind the window excites the substrate, shedding rain, condensation, spray, mud, frost, snow, sand and dust without a wiper blade, exposed actuator or moving seal in front of the sensor.
The technology is intended to be designed into camera, lidar and other optical housings, with the transducer and drive electronics adapted to the window’s material, dimensions and mounting. It can therefore protect both small apertures and larger viewing panels while preserving the external optical path. ClearDrop describes the product as market-ready and is targeting aerial, defence, naval, security and agricultural equipment where contamination can disable perception but mechanical cleaning adds size, drag or maintenance.
