About Deep Forestry
Deep Forestry automates individual-tree inventory by flying small drones beneath the canopy, where trunks and lower vegetation are visible. LiDAR and RGB sensors capture each stem during autonomous flight, then cloud processing derives diameter, height, volume, species and health. Results are delivered as georeferenced tree records and spatial models rather than plot-level estimates from a limited manual sample.
Foresters use this inventory for harvest and logistics planning, wildfire fuel analysis, biomass and carbon measurement, reforestation monitoring and biodiversity reporting. Projects with forestry providers in Sweden and Spain and Kajima in Japan have moved the system into operational surveys across multiple continents. By May 2026, Deep Forestry reported more than 1,000 autonomous under-canopy flights and raised €3 million to expand commercial teams and integrations around its forestry data layer.
