About A-techSYN

A-techSYN’s CGT50 is a long-endurance fixed-wing VTOL aircraft designed to combine vertical launch and recovery with extended wingborne missions. The company also supplies shorter-endurance platforms and integrates electro-optical, mapping, communications and detect-and-avoid payloads around customer requirements.

AvionicsMini provides a redundant flight controller for aircraft between roughly 20 and 150 kilograms, while one ground-control system can operate different A-techSYN vehicle types. The company combines aircraft manufacturing, autopilot development, payload integration, operating authorisations and flight-as-a-service contracts rather than delivering only an airframe.

  • 2024-06-20 - Regulatory - A-techSYN secures Irish authorisation for SAIL-II flights over Irish waters

The authorisation permits proof-of-concept flights below 500 feet and more complex operations up to 2,500 feet inside a temporary reserved area exceeding 100 square nautical miles. It supersedes an earlier Wicklow authorisation that had limited flights to a temporary reserved area, and was overseen by the IAA UAS Division and Airspace Regulation Department. The CGT-50 VTOL UAV is central to the GUARD maritime surveillance project and to the U-AVES ecological survey project run with BlueWise Marine and ATU Galway.

A-techSYN said it had developed eight UAVs, a flight control system, 17 UAS subsystems and ground-control software over the preceding nine years.
