Diehl Aviation is the aerospace division of the family-owned Diehl Group and is headquartered in Laupheim. Its more than 5,200 employees work across nearly two dozen international locations, supporting aircraft manufacturers and airlines through development, production, upgrades and in-service support. The operating portfolio is organised around interiors and ducting, cabin modules, aircraft systems and supply systems rather than a single component family.

For Korthos, the relevant layer is certified subsystem integration into autonomous and electric aircraft programmes. Diehl combines lightweight cabin structures with lighting, cabin-management electronics, modular avionics, flight-control technology, water, air-distribution and fire-protection systems. Eve Air Mobility selected the company to turn its eVTOL cabin concept into a production interior covering prototypes, series aircraft and aftermarket support, providing a direct advanced-air-mobility supply-chain connection without making Diehl itself an aircraft OEM.

    The facility provides more than 8,200 m² of production and office space; a second phase would add 4,000–6,000 m². Diehl disclosed a double-digit-million-euro investment and about 20 employees at opening, with roughly 500 targeted over the medium term. Initial production includes A220 overhead stowage compartments; Eve eVTOL interior components are planned for a later phase.

    Diehl will work with Eve’s engineering and design team to turn the cabin concept into a production interior.
