About Hyundai Mobis
Hyundai Mobis designs and manufactures automotive modules, electrification systems, steering, braking, safety and electronics products. Its robotics programme adapts that component engineering and mass-production base to high-performance actuators, with standardisation, manufacturability, quality and cost as central development priorities.
The company entered a strategic collaboration with Boston Dynamics in January 2026 to develop and supply actuators for the next-generation Atlas humanoid. At its September R&D Tech Day in Yongin, Hyundai Mobis displayed two actuator types still under development while discussing technical cooperation and future orders with customers from North America and Asia.

Two Xcient test vehicles, one hydrogen-electric and one conventional, are scheduled to be provided in early 2027. Mars Auto and RideFlux will integrate autonomous-driving systems, with Mobis and Glovis supporting logistics-route validation. Planned routes total about 500 km across mixed urban/highway and highway settings; this is route length, not daily autonomous mileage.

The actuator work formed part of an R&D showcase covering more than 60 next-generation technologies at the company’s Yongin technical centre. Hyundai Mobis is developing robot actuators alongside its January 2026 collaboration to supply components for Boston Dynamics Atlas. Customers from North America and Asia are attending the programme for order and technical-cooperation discussions.
