maxon engineers complete motion chains for robots, combining brushed and brushless motors, planetary or strain-wave gearheads, encoders, brakes and positioning controllers. Its High Efficiency and High Precision joint families cover torque outputs from very small mechanisms to hundreds of newton-metres, with options for integrated electronics, joint bearings, torque sensing, EtherCAT connectivity and IP67 protection.

EC flat and ECX flat motors provide high torque density in constrained joints, while GPX gearheads and EPOS4 controllers handle reduction, positioning and speed regulation.
