About Kite Aero
KITE combines vertical take-off and landing with wing-borne cruise and an internal payload bay accessible from above or below. It can be configured for dispatch, drop or winch delivery, and the current aircraft is rated for a 240 km one-way route or 115 km return route with a 2.5 kg payload. AXIOM provides route checks, mission control and supervision for multi-aircraft operations.
Kite Aero works with local operators on medical and humanitarian logistics, including cold-chain transport between clinics and laboratories. In September 2026 it moved KITE manufacturing to Sykes Advanced Manufacturing in Geelong, using composite fabrication, large-format additive manufacturing and five-axis machining. The production step gives the Australian company a domestic build and quality-control base while it expands its aircraft pipeline.

- 2026-09-21 - Regulatory - Kite Aero platform receives Zimbabwe BVLOS delivery approval with Drone Solutions
The six-month regulatory review covered the aircraft, operating manuals, risk assessment, airspace integration and live flight demonstrations conducted in August 2026. The approval enables a move from trials toward daily commercial delivery, initially targeting medical and pathology logistics; it does not by itself prove daily operations have started. Kite Aero reports that AXIOM’s safety dataset covers more than 41,000 autonomous flights and 20,000 flight hours.
