About MSubs
MSubs designs, builds and operates specialised manned and uncrewed underwater vehicles for defence, research and offshore missions. Its pressure-hull approach places major systems inside the vehicle, allowing some large UUVs to be maintained and replenished without full recovery and supporting long-duration autonomous operations.
The company built XV Excalibur under the UK Ministry of Defence's Project Cetus as an extra-large uncrewed underwater test vehicle for the Royal Navy. Its broader work includes large autonomous submersibles, diver lock-out craft, dry combat submersibles and surface or hybrid vehicles. Engineering spans mechanical and electrical systems, composites, electronics, navigation software, assembly, trials and offshore operational support.
