About Nidec Aerospace
Nidec Aerospace was established in 2023 as a 51:49 joint venture between Nidec Motor Corporation and Embraer. The structure combines Nidec’s electric-motor and drive manufacturing with Embraer’s aircraft engineering, certification and industrialisation experience; the company is headquartered in St. Louis and led by Vincent Braley.
The business develops scalable electric propulsion units for vertical-, short- and conventional-take-off aircraft as well as multiple drone classes. Its remit covers design through production and sale, with reliability and aviation certification central to the offer. Eve Air Mobility selected Nidec Aerospace to supply the electric propulsion system for its production eVTOL programme, giving the young joint venture a named path into an aircraft platform rather than leaving it at the research stage.
