About THK
THK manufactures linear-motion components and mechatronic systems used to guide, position and drive industrial equipment. Its core products include LM Guides, ball screws, linear motors, splines, cross-roller rings and compact actuators, supplying the mechanical movement layer inside machine tools, robots, semiconductor equipment and medical or food-production machinery.
Actuator families combine guides with ball-screw, belt, rack-and-pinion or linear-motor drives for single- and multi-axis assemblies. Options cover miniature stages, long-stroke modules, high-rigidity tables, cleanroom-compatible mechanisms and controllers. THK also engineers application-specific modules where load, speed, repeatability, contamination control or installation space requires a tailored motion architecture.

- 2026-04-23 - Partnership - THK supplies linear-motor XY unit for Sony AI table-tennis robotics research
The XY stage spans 3.2 by 2.3 metres, with 925 mm of X-axis travel and 750 mm of Y-axis travel. Its synchronized actuators support loads above 40 kg and back-and-forth strokes as short as 0.8 seconds. The 900 kg unit uses linear-motor drives and is specified for acceleration and deceleration of 2 g.

THK announced order intake for a compact-head version of its PPR pick-and-place robot. The system uses force-sensor control for handling workpieces. The product extends THK's robot-solutions line for production automation.

The TNH robot hand uses twelve bellows suction pads and built-in throttle valves. Paired adaptive clamping units can hold workpieces with different shapes. THK said the series reduces hand changes while preserving workpiece orientation during transport and positioning.
