WITTENSTEIN develops precision drive technology for robot joints, grippers, handling systems and automated machinery. Its group companies supply low-backlash planetary and right-angle gearboxes, servo motors, integrated actuators, linear systems and control electronics across industrial, delta and medical robotics.
Robot designers can combine alpha gearboxes with cyber motor products or use integrated units such as the premo and cyber dynamic actuator families. Compact construction, high torque density and low torsional backlash support fast, repeatable motion, while hygienic and corrosion-resistant variants serve food, pharmaceutical and medical environments. Engineering tools size complete axes and help match motors, transmissions and loads before commissioning.

- 2026-01-22 - Acquisition - WITTENSTEIN agrees to acquire majority stake in STXI Motion
WITTENSTEIN signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in STXI Motion. The companies targeted closing for April 1, 2026, subject to antitrust approval. The deal would add STXI electronics and electric-motor software expertise to WITTENSTEIN's drive portfolio.

The new sizes extend the cyber kit line medium family beyond frame sizes 100 and 112. The motors are designed for 560 VDC and operation up to 750 VDC intermediate-circuit voltage. The actuator combines a cyber kit line small frameless motor with a zero-backlash Galaxie gearbox. Its configurable architecture includes a hollow shaft up to 35 mm, dual encoders and integrated safety reserves. WITTENSTEIN debuted the compact actuator at SPS 2024 for surgical and high-precision robotics.

The Czech drive manufacturer became WITTENSTEIN s.r.o. after the October 1 transaction. The deal added rotary servo motors, linear motors and integrated linear actuators to WITTENSTEIN cyber motor. The acquired portfolio extended force capability to 170 kN and supported high-dynamics automated handling axes.

The partners planned a 50:50 venture to develop, manufacture and market miniaturized six-axis force-torque sensors. The venture combined WITTENSTEIN hollow-shaft sensor IP with WIKA sensor-chip manufacturing expertise. A later official update confirmed Resense was established in April 2023 and began production and certification work.
