Phantom L-Series

Phantom L-Series is Deep Ocean Engineering's inspection-class remotely operated underwater vehicle family, represented by the current Phantom L6. Four vectored horizontal and two vertical magnetically coupled brushless thrusters provide translation, heading control and lift in current. The open polypropylene chassis accommodates sensors and heavier payloads, with optional sonar, manipulators, navigation instruments and additional cameras available for a particular inspection or survey configuration.

The standard system includes an HD camera, LED lighting, automatic heading and depth control, a surface console and power unit, and a 300-metre copper umbilical. Phantom L6 is rated to 500 metres, with an 800-metre option, and weighs 97.5 kilograms in air. Published thrust figures are 68 kilogram-force forward, 39 kilogram-force lateral and 49 kilogram-force vertical, with a surface speed of 3 knots. Applications include infrastructure inspection, survey, science, security and offshore work.
