About AT128

AT128 is Hesai’s 128-channel automotive lidar for long-range environmental perception. Its forward-facing scan spans 120 degrees horizontally and 25.4 degrees vertically, producing 1,536,000 points per second in single-return mode. The current ranging specification is 210 m on a 10%-reflective target, with 0.1-degree horizontal and 0.2-degree vertical angular resolution.

The 940 g sensor measures 136 mm wide, 114 mm deep and 49 mm high, allowing integration into vehicle bodywork. It draws 13.5 W and has Class 1 eye safety, IP6K7/IP6K9K environmental validation and ISO 26262 ASIL B functional-safety product certification. Applications include driver-assistance systems, robotaxis, autonomous trucks and logistics equipment. Existing automotive design wins and deliveries establish commercial use; individual vehicle configurations and programme dates remain specific to each deployment.

    2025-04-24 - Partnership - The selection covers all three seventh-generation robotaxi models unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. The new models were undergoing road tests across multiple regions, marking the beginning of scaled production. At the announcement, AT128 was described with a 120° field of view, 200 m range and more than 1.53 million points per second.

  • Zelos Z5 launches with four Hesai AT128 lidars

    2024-07-04 - Deployment - The Z5 2024 carries four AT128 units, each providing 128 laser channels and 1.53 million points per second. The agreement names Hesai as exclusive lidar supplier for the Z5 configuration rather than for every Zelos vehicle family. The integration supports real-time 3D perception used by the delivery vehicle for path planning and obstacle avoidance.

Hesai lidar was selected for the second Human Horizons flagship, Digital GT-HiPhi Z. AT128 was the relevant long-range sensor programme, while the later July 2022 event separately records the HiPhi Z production launch.
