About VLP-16 Puck
VLP 16 Puck is a compact 905 nm rotating lidar that produces a 360-degree point cloud for robot perception, mapping, infrastructure monitoring and autonomous-vehicle navigation. Ouster continues the former Velodyne product line with dual returns and a 16-channel configuration reaching about 600,000 points per second.
The current VLP 16 specification lists a 40-degree vertical field of view, up to 200 m range, +/-3 cm accuracy and a maximum 20 Hz frame rate. The sensor body is 72 mm high by 89 mm wide and can weigh about 590 g without cabling and interface boxes, supporting drone and space-constrained mobile-platform installations.
