About multiScan136

multiScan136 is the first sensor in SICK's multiScan100 family, designed to give mobile platforms a broad three-dimensional view from one compact unit. Its layered scan pattern covers 360 degrees horizontally and 65 degrees vertically, extending from 22.7 degrees above to 42.8 degrees below the reference plane. SICK specifies a 20 Hz scan frequency and a 0.05–60 m working range, while published detection ranges vary with target reflectivity and ambient light.

The 100.3 × 100.3 × 98.5 mm sensor weighs 0.7 kg and carries IP65, IP67, IP69 and IPX9K ratings when correctly connected and sealed. Typical power draw is 10 W, rising to 22 W maximum and 35 W during the five-second motor start. SICK presents its 3D measurement output for vehicle localization, SLAM, collision avoidance and outdoor automation. Host software and the installed vehicle use the sensor data to perform those downstream functions.
