REMUS 6000
About
About REMUS 6000
HII supplies REMUS 6000 through an open, modular architecture with swappable energy and payload sections. The standard sensor suite combines synthetic-aperture sonar, Doppler velocity sensing, inertial navigation, acoustic communications and terrain following; optional payloads can extend the vehicle for hydrography, search and recovery, environmental monitoring or infrastructure survey. Multiple vehicles can be operated simultaneously.
Published HII configurations differ materially. One uses three battery bottles totalling 17.55 kWh, weighs about 1,630 kg and is rated for up to 25 hours at 3 knots. A higher-capacity configuration uses six bottles totalling 48.6 kWh, weighs about 1,950 kg and exceeds 60 hours at the same reference speed. Both retain the 6,000 m depth rating and ship-launch recovery options.
