MUNIN

MUNIN is Kongsberg's compact autonomous underwater vehicle for hydrographic survey, seabed imaging and pipeline inspection. The four-metre vehicle combines an aided inertial navigation system with DVL, GPS and USBL positioning, and carries multibeam, side-scan and forward-looking sonar alongside conductivity, temperature and depth sensors. Modular payload sections allow the survey package to be adapted to the mission.

Two swappable 5 kWh battery modules provide up to nine hours of endurance per module, with operation from 5 to 600 metres depth and speeds from 2 to 4.5 knots. Communications include hydroacoustic links, Wi-Fi and Iridium. The rental system is supplied with launch-and-recovery equipment, operator stations, charging and post-processing software, and its use is subject to export controls and operation by authorised Kongsberg personnel.
