About REMUS 620

REMUS 620 uses a modular cylindrical vehicle architecture with interchangeable energy, navigation and payload sections. Operators configure the UUV with sonar, environmental sensors, communications equipment or mission-specific payloads before launch from shore, small craft or larger vessels. Its onboard navigation and autonomy execute preplanned underwater routes, collect data and manage vehicle health throughout extended missions without a continuous control link.

HII’s Odyssey software supports mission planning, vehicle supervision and coordinated operation across multiple autonomous platforms. The vehicle is intended for mine countermeasures, seabed survey, intelligence collection and other defence or scientific missions requiring long endurance at medium depth. HII supplies REMUS 620 as a production UUV with payload integration, training, maintenance and fleet-support services.
