Locus Origin
About
About Locus Origin
Locus Origin is a collaborative autonomous mobile robot developed by Locus Robotics for warehouse order fulfilment. It travels between pick locations carrying totes, bins or shipping cartons while associates select and confirm items through an iPad interface. Configurable shelving supports different order profiles, and the robot carries up to 36 kg. Its multi-sensor navigation allows movement through existing warehouse aisles among workers and equipment.
LocusONE coordinates Origin fleets with warehouse-management systems and interleaves picking with putaway, replenishment, returns and transport. The tablet provides instructions in more than 40 languages. Origin supports opportunity charging, with a stated runtime of up to 14 hours and an approximately 50-minute charge time. The commercially deployed platform is supplied through Robots-as-a-Service subscriptions, allowing operators to change fleet size for seasonal demand and combine Origin with heavier-load Vector robots and autonomous Array systems.
