MATRIX-3
About
About MATRIX-3
MATRIX-3 is Matrix Robotics’ third-generation humanoid, combining distributed tactile sensing, biomimetic exterior materials and a cable-driven 27-degree-of-freedom hand. Fingertip sensors detect forces down to approximately 0.1 newtons, while integrated linear actuators and whole-body control support bipedal movement and coordinated manipulation.
The WAVE physical-world model handles scene interpretation, task planning and cross-task generalisation, while a separate motion layer coordinates gait and physical execution. Matrix opened an early-access programme for selected partners in January 2026 and announced plans for pilot deployments from mid-2026 across commercial service, manufacturing, logistics and assistance applications.

Research
- WAVE physical-world model: WAIC 2026 technical update
2026-07-20 - Research Publication - Matrix Robotics describes an updated WAVE physical-world model demonstrated on three MATRIX-3 humanoids at WAIC 2026. A high-level model handles scene understanding, task planning and generalised manipulation while a separate motion-control model generates whole-body movement.

2026-05-18 - Market Signal - The standard configuration cost CNY 580,000 and the Pro version CNY 680,000, each including one year of basic service; the Pro included the dexterous hand. The first factory phase was planned for annual capacity of 10,000 units, alongside releases of WAVE, developer tools and a robotics-as-a-service ecosystem.
