EPOS4 50/5

EPOS4 50/5 is a ready-to-connect digital positioning controller for brushed DC and brushless EC motors. The 105 × 83 × 38.7-millimetre unit accepts a 10–50 VDC supply, delivers 5 amperes continuously and permits a 15-ampere peak for less than 15 seconds. It supports encoder and Hall-sensor feedback for closed-loop motor control.

Current, speed and position modes cover torque regulation, velocity loops and servo positioning inside an integrated motion system. USB, RS232 and CANopen are built in, while an optional card adds EtherCAT at 100 Mbit/s full duplex. Maxon provides EPOS Studio, command libraries and application documentation for configuration and integration. The controller is a motion component and does not receive standalone physical-task mappings.
