Meca500

About

About Meca500

A 330-millimetre reach, 500-gram rated payload and 4.6-kilogram arm mass define the Meca500’s compact operating envelope. Its six revolute joints deliver 0.005-millimetre position repeatability, while the controller is embedded in the base. The current R4 system uses a separate PS200 power-and-safety module; brakes on joints one through three engage when motor power is removed.

Control is built around network integration from a computer or PLC. A TCP text protocol provides direct command access, with cyclic fieldbus and Python interfaces available for applications that need different timing or abstraction levels. The arm can mount at any angle and is used for precision assembly, testing and optical alignment. Calibrated units address absolute-positioning work, while the Meca500-OBST’s black surface absorbs more than 95 percent of incident light for optics and vision installations.
