Type-X
About
About Type-X
Type-X’s control system supports remote operation alongside assisted movement functions such as following a person, waypoint navigation and obstacle detection. Milrem developed the vehicle using experience from its smaller THeMIS ground robot, while designing Type-X to accompany mechanised forces and accept different mission payloads.
The vehicle incorporates a health and usage monitoring system and predictive maintenance functions. Replaceable equipment units are intended to simplify servicing, while its hybrid powertrain and rubber tracks form part of the company’s approach to reducing maintenance and logistics demands. Milrem presented Type-X as a candidate for the US Army’s medium robotic combat vehicle programme in June 2021.
