About RIPSAW M3

RIPSAW M3 is an uncrewed tracked chassis intended to carry interchangeable tactical payloads while keeping personnel outside the vehicle. A hybrid-electric drivetrain provides full mobility in electric mode, with a range extender for longer movement. Textron uses a modular open architecture so customers can integrate different controllers, autonomy packages, sensors and mission equipment onto the flat deck.

Current family specifications list a 14,000-pound vehicle weight, payload capacity of 5,000 pounds, speed above 30 miles per hour and 63 square feet of modular deck. An earlier M3 sheet describes more than 4,000 pounds of payload and a gross rating of 18,000 pounds, reflecting configuration boundaries that must be checked for a delivered vehicle. Terrain, communications, payload integration, command authority and safety procedures determine operational capability.

    2025-12-02 - Commercial Order - Textron Systems and Howe & Howe announced the sale of a RIPSAW M3 robotic ground vehicle to the government of Sweden. The company said Sweden is the first European customer for the M3 platform. RIPSAW M3 is designed around a Modular Open System Approach for payload, controller and autonomy-suite integration.
