Mini TORTUGA

About

About Mini TORTUGA

Subsea Tech’s Mini TORTUGA is a compact tethered ROV for visual inspection in ports, offshore facilities and confined underwater structures. It is rated to 300 metres and uses four azimuth thrusters, each producing seven kilograms of thrust, to maintain control in currents rated up to 2.5 knots. Its compact frame is intended for transport and deployment from light support craft.

The vehicle can carry imaging sonar, USBL positioning, navigation aids, thickness probes, environmental sensors or a small manipulator for each inspection. Operators pilot it from the surface and receive live video and instrument data through the umbilical. Available configurations cover quay walls, hulls, pilings, pipes, research sites and other spaces where launch access or visibility constrains a larger ROV.
